A huge amount of UK business software was written in Delphi between the mid-1990s and the late 2000s: bespoke systems built by a developer who has since moved on, and off-the-shelf packages for medical practices, manufacturers, membership organisations and specialist trades. Many still depend on the Borland Database Engine and Paradox tables, technology that was never designed for Windows 11 or modern networks.
